Software activation with perpetual license

To be able to use T*SOL with all its features, you need to activate the software.

If you have installed T*SOL and the program is available as trial version, you can activate the software either directly when starting the program or during use. When starting the program, a dialog appears indicating the remaining trial period. If the program is already running, you can open the same dialog via the menu Help > Licensing.

You can activate T*SOL using the button .

Select Perpetual license and click . If you would alternatively want to activate T*SOL with a user license, please follow the steps in the corresponding help section on Software activation with user license.

You can activate T*SOL with your perpetual license, as long as the T*SOL version to be activated was released before the end of your Software Maintenance. You need your serial number to activate. The serial number consists of a combination of numbers and letters, which must be entered without spaces but together with the special characters.

Once you have entered all the required data, you can complete the activation by clicking the button.

How often can the program be activated with a perpetual license?

The number of possible activations corresponds to the number of licenses you have purchased. For example, if you have purchased one perpetual single user license, you can activate the program on one device.

Reactivation of the software on another device

You can only move a perpetual license to another device yourself once every six months.

If you want to move your license to another device, you must first release the relevant serial number on the old device. To do this, please start T*SOL on the old device. Open the License information dialog via the menu Help > Licensing.

  • Select and copy your serial number so that you have it available for activation on the new device
  • Click the button
  • Click the button
  • Note the additional information dialog that appears and click again

T*SOL confirms the release of your serial number. With the released serial number you can activate your software on another device.

Software Maintenance

Due to the introduction of the user license and the new license model, we will no longer offer software maintenance renewals as of October 1, 2024. If you would like to continue receiving program and database updates after your maintenance has expired, you can switch to the new user license. Find out more in our FAQ.

As long as your software maintenance is still valid, it includes:

  • Electronic delivery of updates, i.e. of program changes within a program variant of a software program to a higher program version,
  • Access to renewed component data, i.e. to updated data records stored in the software program relating to the products used (e.g. PV Modules, Inverters, etc),
  • Answering technical questions by telephone/e-mail as well as general questions about the delivery, the serial numbers and the activation of the software program(s) and the updates as well as the possibility to access the component data.
