In several situations, T*SOL communicates with the license server or checks whether the user authentication or license is valid:
It may happen that a check fails. A simple example is: at the time of software activation, your device is not connected to the internet.
In the following, we describe issues that may occur when using the program along with suggestions on how to approach them.
How to approach issues
The program is in restricted mode
In the following situations, the program switches to restricted mode while running:
- The online license session has expired
- because there is no connection to the internet
- because your user license has expired while the program is running
- The offline license session has expired while the program is running
- The trial period has expired while the program is running as trial version
- The date or time on your device is not set correctly
- The time version of your perpetual license has expired while the program is running with that license
As soon as the program switches to restricted mode, its functionality is restricted:
- Starting new projects is not possible
- Project files cannot be loaded
The authentication server could not be reached
Please check your internet connection. The program requires access to certain mandatory URLs.
The license server could not be reached

Your license is already in use, there is an active license session on another device
There is no valid license assigned to your user account
If your company has already purchased user-based licenses:
- Your company has one or more License Managers.
- Licenses are assigned to License Users by one of your License Managers. (See section License portal - user license)
- Please contact one of your company’s License Managers.
User-based licenses can be purchased directly in our online shop.
Your license has expired
If your company has purchased multiple user-based licenses:
- Your company has one or more License Managers.
- Licenses are assigned to License Users by one of your License Managers. (See section License portal - user license)
- Please contact one of your company’s License Managers. Maybe they can assign you another valid license.
