Currently T*SOL requires Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows 11 running on 64 bit. Systems running on 32bit will usually work as well, but without guarantee. Like any program, T*SOL at execution time requires resources such as processor, memory and disk space to store temporary files. Most modern computers of recent years meet these requirements.
An overview is available here: https://valentin-software.com/en/products/tsol/#release-notes
In order to install the program, you must be logged on with administrator rights.
To run the program, you must have read and write rights to the T*SOL program directory (e.g., C:\Program Files\Valentin EnergieSoftware\TSOL).
The program icon appears in the Windows Start Menu and on the desktop after installation.
T*SOL can only be installed locally. However, because it is possible to save the database and project files under any path, and these can be set as standard paths in the program, parts of the program can be moved to different hard drives.
T*SOL adopts the formats for currency, numbers, time, and date set in the country settings of Windows’ control panel. These
formats also appear on print-outs. If you change the currency, for example, from € to \$, then what had been 1000 € will be displayed
as \$ 1000, without conversion calculation.
It is important for the operation of the program that separators for thousands and decimals are different.
To be able to use the full range of T*SOL functions, you must be connected to a number of URLs and the servers behind them. If you do not have access to URLs, please contact your network administrator.

Variant Menu: Help > Check for Updates
On the page Options > Internet updates, you can set the times at which T*SOL should check whether a new update is available on the server.
If there is an active internet connection, the program checks whether a new update is available on the server according to the settings on the page Internet update:
If a new release or new databases are available, the program will close, and the installation program will be downloaded to the Desktop and run from there.
T*SOL is using your computer’s system proxy settings to connect to the network.
