Configuration check

The quality of the connection can be assessed with the configuration check. The system checks whether all relevant currents, voltages and powers are within the specified limits.

Configuration check inverter

System test: Inverter

  • The current of the PV generator must not exceed the maximum input current of the inverter. STC conditions apply.
  • The dimensioning factor is the ratio between the nominal PV power installed on the DC side and the output power of the inverter on the AC side. As a rule, it should not be smaller than 100%. With dimensioning factors of more than 115%, it is recommended to calculate with radiation data resolved per minute, as high control losses can occur.

Configuration check MPP-Tracker

System test: MPP-Tracker

  • The MPP voltage of the PV generator must be within the MPP voltage limits of the inverter or its MPP trackers. For this, the MPP voltage of the PV generator at 70°C and 1000 W/m² is taken as a minimum and that at 15°C and 1000 W/m² as a maximum.
  • The open circuit voltage of the PV generator must not exceed the maximum system voltage. The maximum open circuit voltage of the PV generator is calculated at -10°C and 1000 W/m².
  • The STC current of the PV generator must not exceed the maximum DC input current of the inverter.
  • The maximum input power of the MPP tracker can be exceeded, since the STC power of the PV generator is not often reached in practice. However, depending on the oversizing, a loss of control is to be expected here.
