Hardware and Software Requirements

  • Processor: Intel i3, AMD Ryzen 3 or higher
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • Free hard disk space: 1,2 GB
  • Resolution display: at least 1024 x 768 pixels, 16 bit
  • Operating system: Windows 10 (64 bit, latest service pack required), Windows 11
  • Software: Microsoft .Net Framework 4.8 (will be installed automatically)

In order to install GeoT*SOL®, you must have full access (administrator rights) to the GeoT*SOL® installation directory.

GeoT*SOL® adopts the formats for currency, numbers, time, and date set in the country settings of Windows’ control panel. These formats also appear on print-outs. If you change the currency, for example, from € to $, then what had been 1000 € will be displayed as $ 1000, without conversion calculation.
It is important for the operation of the program that separators for thousands and decimals are different.

  • Internet connection for updates and climate data
  • You should set your monitor to display Small Fonts via the Windows control panel.

Installation

In order to install the program, you must be logged on with administrator rights.

To run the program, you must have read and write rights to the GeoT*SOL® program directory (e.g., C:\Program Files\Valentin EnergieSoftware\GeoTSOL).

The program icon appears in the Windows Start Menu and on the desktop after installation.

The single-user version of GeoT*SOL® can only be installed locally. However, because it is possible to save the database and project files under any path, and these can be set as standard paths in the program, parts of the program can be moved to different hard drives.

Start the update check to verify via the Internet whether there are new program versions or, e.g., databases available.
